MORE than 400 youngsters competed in the speech and drama section of the Darlington Festival for Performing Arts.
Three Durham boys kept one category to themselves. Nathan Miller, seven, was first in the solo recitation test with Road Up by Norman Nicholson.
Second was George Warren and third Aron Lewis, also of Durham.
Competitors, aged from five, took part in various categories including acting, mime, poetry and sonnet reading.
