Durham City Ladies: Durham City produced a comprehensive display against Killingworth, and were unlucky to come away with nothing.
After good play from both sides, Killingworth were awarded a penalty after a cross ricocheted off the elbow of City's Amanda Smith on the edge of the box. This was an incredibly harsh decision, as the player's arms were tucked in and she knew nothing about the cross until it hit her.
Killingworth converted the spot kick, but Durham responded well creating chances before being awarded a free kick 25 yards out on the stroke of half time. City left back Helen Lackenby scored her first goal of the season with a left-footed effort, and it was even at the break.
However, this was not enough to salvage anything from the game. After 35 minutes of battling in the second half, Killingworth scored on the break after a scramble in the penalty box. City's Charlotte Rimmer came close in injury time with a snap-shot from the right, but hit the side netting. City now have four more games to rescue their status in Division One.
Lumley Ladies
LUMLEY are just one win from completing the Women's Northern League Division Two title at the first attempt after a 3-0 victory over Rutherford Ravens.
The Gateshead side made life difficult for Lumley, who were only 1-0 up at the break after birthday girl Carolanne Hughes volleyed in from short range from a Sarah Price corner.
A two goal burst within four minutes midway through the second half eased the nerves in the home camp.
Price headed in after Jemma Dinning's lightning burst and cross from the right wing, while captain Louise Winter got the final touch on an in-swinging free-kick to complete the scoring.
Lumley must now hold their nerve at home to Cleator Moor Celtic, from Cumbria, at the Riverside on Sunday to clinch the league crown ahead of close challengers Blyth Town.
Both sides have already guaranteed promotion, but should Lumley slip up on Sunday, Blyth could still pip them for the title on goal difference.
Spaire Lasses
Darlington Spraire Lasses U16s knew they would have a hard task fielding a player short and badly missing their regular goalkeeper against Lumley Lasses.
With the wind and luck against them the Darlington defence held up well but the first half ended with them trailing 3-1. The Darlington goal coming from the hard working Danni Shutt.
On the blow of the whistle to start the second half the ball was tapped to Captain Brogan Prudhoe who chipped the ball into the back of the net from the half way line to reduce the deficit to 3-2. Stacey Crang stole the ball from Lumley and pushed it through to Kathryn Clarke who battled hard up front and was brought down just outside the box but the shot from the free kick flew inches off the mark. A clearance from Laura Mather was picked up by Brogan who slotted home her second goal. Newcomer Jessica Wake turned in a good performance. The final score ended 5-3 to Lumley.

Royals were at home to Spraire Lasses and had to make sure of the points to maintain second place in the league. Royals started kicked against the wind but still tried to pass the ball around and scored the first after Holly Taylor laid the ball off for Rebecca Pattinson to make it 1-0. Spraire were always quick to react and when Royals lost possession McKnight and Gowling put together a good move for Rachel McKnight to put a shot away in the corner of the net to equalise.
