MORE than 500 runners turned out for a cross country race.
The entrants battled their way around the course at Maiden Castle, near Durham, for the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF) Open Cross-Country Championship.
It was organised by the Veterans Athletic Association North East, in partnership with Durham City Council and the University of Durham.
