FORMER headteacher Mike Harris is back in the classroom, teaching pottery.
Since retiring from Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary School last August, Mr Harris has indulged his passion for making pots by teaching the skill to children.
Now he has turned his attention to adults, becoming the first tutor at a ceramics workshop in Stanhope Community Centre.
Funding for the workshop came from Government-backed agencies and totalled £3,000.
"It is the first time that I have taught adults how to make pots, although I must have been involved with hundreds of children in the area over the years," said Mr Harris.
"It is a very exciting venture and one that I hope we will be able to build on over the years."
