A caf bar has opened in Chester-le-Street creating 52 jobs for local people
Staff at the £1m Chicago Rock Caf have been learning routines from Grease as well as how to pull a perfect pint.
Each member of the bar and waiting team is trained to dance to songs including, Grease Lightning, while serving food and drinks.
Luminar Leisure, the company behind the Front Street venue, said more than 160 people applied for jobs.
Derek Simpson, the openings executive for Chicago Rock Caf, said staff would provide service with a smile.
He said: "Chicago Rock Caf is Luminar's most popular brand across the UK with more than 80 outlets nationwide.
"And I think much of that is down to the fact that we make sure staff are highly trained, but also that they enjoy what they do."
The venue will also host chart-topping acts and tribute bands.
There is a dancefloor and the music dates from the 1950s to the 1990s.
Mr Simpson said: "We have been really looking forward to the opening and I cannot remember such anticipation ahead of such a venue launch before.
"We are having dozens of daily requests for information and that bodes well for our future in Chester-le-Street."
