PUPILS have seen designs for a Monopoly board based on their town turned into reality.
Youngsters from five primary schools in Ferryhill and Chilton took part in a project based on the board game.
The work was designed to help the children in the transition to Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College.
Pupils from Cleves Cross, Dean Bank, Broom Cottages, Ferryhill Station and Chilton schools, devised a version of the board based on businesses in the town.
The best designs from each school were chosen and the makers of Monopoly agreed to produce a special edition of the game for each school, plus one for the college.
Students who took part in the project attended a presentation evening at the college.
Teacher Jayne Bartle presented the prizes, with college headteacher Steve Gater and his deputy, Ann Furniss.
There were also representatives from businesses which sponsored the project and appear on the boards, including Tallent Chassis, Peter Clark Property Services, Thorn Lighting, Greggs and Winning Moves.
Mrs Bartle said the pupils had thrown themselves into the project and had thoroughly enjoyed working on the boards.
