SHOPPERS at the Asda store in Bishop Auckland have helped to raise £1,000 for the Great North Air Ambulance.
John Bowman, Janet Richardson and Angela Cleminson from the store presented a cheque for the money to the charity's fundraising manager, Pippa Holt.
Ms Holt said: "It is a fantastic amount to have raised and I would like to thank the staff and shoppers at Asda.
"We don't get any government funding so we rely on donations from the public so that we can keep this life saving project going.''
Mr Bowman, events co-ordinator at the store, said: "The Great North Air Ambulance is our chosen charity for the year. We will be having a big Easter fun day on Easter Sunday and some of the money raised from that will go to it."
