A NURSERY celebrated in style after being praised by two national bodies.
The National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) and the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) both gave plaudits to the childcare centre at Darlington College's Catterick campus.
The centre is used by parents who want to continue their studies or work.
To mark the occasion, staff threw a tea party for the children featuring favourite treats, kites and balloons.
Centre manager Jackie Hawthorne said: "We are delighted to receive both the NDNA Quality Kite Mark and the fantastic report from early years Ofsted.
"The team works hard and consistently reviews their practises to ensure we provide the highest standard of childcare and education. It is wonderful to have this formally recognised."
Ofsted inspectors identified the excellent relationship between children and staff and the effective partnership that operated with parents. They praised the centre's teaching, leadership and management and said the children were making good progress.
The quality assurance kite mark was awarded by the NDNA in recognition of the good work being carried out at the centre.
The scheme scrutinises 16 key areas, including management and staff, health and safety, environment, child protection, working with parents and catering for special needs. The centre has to undergo a rigorous inspection to gain the award.
