A theatre has won its second award less than a year since it reopened after a £1.5m restoration project.
The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond won Stage magazine's award for achievement in regional theatre at the Theatrical Management Association's annual ceremony in London in October.
It is also on the short-list for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors awards, which will be announced in May. Now the theatre has been chosen by The Countryside Agency as the best market town project in Yorkshire and the Humber and the region's best heritage project.
As a result it will represent the region in the national round of the Action for Market Towns' competition in September.
"The theatre is a worthy winner of the regional award," said Countryside Agency senior advisor, David Gluck.
"It's the sort of high-quality, nationally significant project which we can be sure of standing up well at the national awards too."
Other North Yorkshire winners in the regional rounds of the competition were the Thirsk Festival, which won the tourism and leisure category, and Pickering's Youth Events, which won the class for young people.
