The jury in the case of a man accused of dealing Ecstasy to a teenager who later died has retired to consider its verdict.
Christopher Hartshorn, 20, is said to have dealt the drug to 17-year-old Martin Dakers, who died after celebrating a new job on March 14, last year.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how Mr Dakers was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and later died in police custody.
Witnesses said Mr Harts-horn was among three other people who supplied Ecstasy.
Mr Hartshorn, of Pembridge, Oxclose Village, Washington, Wearside, denies four charges of supplying Ecstasy.
