A SCOUT group for children with special needs is about to celebrate its first birthday.
Friarage Scoutlink, in Northallerton, is holding a birthday party on Saturday for its members and people who have helped out.
The group aims to enable children who may not adapt into a regular Scout group to enjoy what Scouting has to offer and its monthly meetings usually attract 18 young people, aged from six to 12.
The youngsters can still work towards the various badges because of the new scout training programme, which allows group leaders to adapt the badge requirements to fit individual needs.
Scout group leader Steven Brown is issued a thank you for all the donations of time and money that have helped to establish the group.
The birthday party takes place at Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton on Saturday from 3pm until 5pm.
Organisers said everyone was welcome to attend.
