A CHANCE remark from a headteacher has led to the launch of a learning website, which yesterday won Government approval.
Thanks to a moment of inspiration by James Miller, the headteacher of Newcastle Royal Grammar School, students using the Internet to help them study now have a new resource.
Amazing-Grades.com, which guarantees access to information of the highest academic quality over the Internet, was created after a remark made three years ago by Mr Miller to media entrepreneur Paul Campbell.
He described students' frustration at the time wasted searching the Internet for their studies, and the impossibility of guaranteeing the accuracy of what they found.
Together, they planned a partnership to save teachers and pupils hours of endless trawling the Internet for relevant and accurate study materials.
Three years later, Mr Campbell and his Amazing Group have launched and expanded the service.
Initially created for A-level students, Amazing-Grades.com now covers GCSE and vocational subjects, creating a service for students aged 14 to 19.
