A GROUP of hardy ramblers are preparing for a series of treks.
Durham Rambling Club has revealed a varied programme of walks across the North-East and North Yorkshire over the coming six months.
It features 13 events, with participants given the option of taking a nine to 11-mile walk or a longer, more strenuous route.
Transport is provided for all but the first event, which is in Durham, with pick-ups at points around the city.
The season starts on Easter Sunday, April 11, when club chairman Charlie Stout will lead a walk from the Market Place, at 10am.
There will be a shorter walk, of about six miles, led by committee member Sheila Everard.
A standard charge of £1 applies to both, with all those considering taking part advised to take a packed lunch and suitable footwear.
