A NEW exhibition at the Life Science Centre in Newcastle is introducing visitors to the less savoury side of life.
Opening on Monday, Grossology, the (Impolite) Science of the Human Body, is a close-up look at bodily functions. Based on the best-selling book Grossology, the exhibition uses sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits to explain to visitors how the body's biology works to keep us healthy.
Linda Conlon, director of the Life Science Centre, said: "The exhibition aims to teach children and adults about the workings of the human body.
"Visitors can push buttons and pull levers to produce burps, belches and other bodily sounds and smells, all the things that children find hilarious."
Visitors come face to face with giant characters such as Nigel-Nose-It-All, a giant dripping tap that explains the importance of the nose.
