PARALYMPIAN Tanni Grey-Thompson yesterday backed a government campaign to warn businesses to make their premises accessible to disabled people.
Tanni spoke to Redcar shoppers about her days as a mystery shopper, volunteering to go on to the high street and report back about barriers to disabled people.
The Department of Work and Pensions is warning businesses they have six months to make their goods and services accessible to disabled people or face legal action.
Tanni said: "The attitudes of members of staff in inaccessible shops is improving all the time, but physical access makes life so much easier, and makes it easier for me to spend my money."
