In the League Cup Lanchester Chapel of the first division took on joint leaders Consett Saint Patricks at home. Matching goal for goal within the first half Oliver Webster and David Marrin scored for Lanchester Chapel.
John Christer, Kieron Young and John Lister scored for Consett to give them a 3-2 lead at the break. The difference paid in the second with Consett scoring five unanswered goals from Andrew Murray and David Cooke two each and Neil James to progress to the semis.
In the second round division, Premier Division Jesmond Parish Church faced City Church Newcastle from division two, Tim Hawe opened the scoring for Jesmond in the first half. Keith Parson equalised. Hawe got his second and David Angiers opened his account to stretch the lead to 3-1, Phil Lay pulled a goal back for City. With the last kick of the match David Angiers got his second for Jesmond to wrap the match up at 4-2.
In the premier division Jesmond Parish Athenians need to win their last three matches to beat the drop. Airport Church Newcastle need to win one match from their last three. With the two meeting on Saturday at Airport Church. First blood went to Athenians from Dale Atchison. Just before half time Ian Tew made the score 2-0 in the last five minutes Athenians finished with a convincing 3-0 win with Jason Alexander getting the last goal.
In division one mid-table Saint John's Snod's Edge met bottom team Monkwearmouth Christians and the difference showed. Saints took a 3-1 lead after 45 minutes. Ray Wilkinson scored twice with Mark Shaw getting the third. Ben Hodgeson netting for Monkwearmouth. Ray Wilkinson got his hat-trick with the final score 4-1.
In Division Two the Youth Ministry Team bandwagon kept rolling this week, it was Hope House Church Sunderland who were the visitors. David Standby, Rob Thomas and Jon Coffer gave Youth a 3-2 half time lead. Andrew Richardson got both Hope House goals. David Millen and Dan O'Hare each scored in the second half for Youth to win 5-2. Later in the match Andrew Richardson suffered a nasty broken waist and had to be rushed to hospital. Youth Ministry require one more point to guarantee promotion.
