Scramble: The last winter competition was played on Sunday and while the team of Roger Parry, Michael Henson, John Webster and Julie Standen returned a best gross of 59 they had to settle for second place in this nett competition.

Mail on Sunday: Owing to course difficulties it was found nevessary to transfer the match which should have been played at Aldwark Manor to Bedale. The Bedale team of Kevin Ward, Neil Brown, Mike Henson and and Roger Parry had a convincing victory by three matches to one which enabled them to progress to the next round. Well done Bedale.
Ladies: Wednesday found the Ladies playing a Stableford competition using only five clubs and a poutter organised by the lady vice captain Jean Harvey. The overall winner was Julie Noble. Other winners as follows: Division One: Pam Fretwell, Margaret Gant. Division Two Margaret Burleigh, Norma Butterworth. Division Three: Kate Thompson. Hidden Holes. Best scores on the Par 5 and par 3s Marilyn Thompson, Janet Sunley.
Ladies Dales Alliance: The final of this season's new ladies winter competition was played at Romanby Golf Club and the scores on the day were Bedale 287 points, Catterick 278, Ripon City 268, Thirsk and Northallerton 257, Romanby 214.
Individual winners on the day were 39 points J Grainger and k Fellows (Romanby), also D Hill and M Dawson (Bedale), card countback required. 38, J Thompson and L Whincup (Romanby).
