FOOTBALL fans in Sunderland will be hoping to bring their team some luck, when the FA Cup visits the city today.
The Black Cats play Millwall in the cup semi-final on Sunday and, to mark the occasion, competition sponsor Umbro is bringing the prized trophy to Wearside.
Eddie May, Umbro UK marketing manager, said: "The FA Cup is all about the chance for teams to revel in the glory of the occasion and ultimately get their hands on the famous silverware.
"As an FA Cup partner, we're giving the fans that chance too."
The cup will be on show at Sports World, in The Bridges shopping centre, from 1.30pm.
Fans will have the chance lift the FA Cup, just like Bob Stokoe's inspired Sunderland team of 1973. There will also be competition, with a pair of tickets to the Cup Final in Cardiff in May as first prize.
Sports World managing director Dave Forsey said: "It's going to be one amazing weekend for Sunderland and I'm sure our customers will be queuing up to kick it off today by lifting the cup."
