A DRIVER who pleaded guilty to 28 motoring offences over the course of a few weeks appeared in court yesterday.
Luke Knighton, 26, of Sycamore Court, Spennymoor, appeared before South Durham magistrates, in Newton Aycliffe, after a warrant for his arrest was executed.
He admits nine charges of driving without a licence, nine of driving without insurance, seven counts of having no MoT certificate, two charges of vehicle defects and one of driving a car in a condition that would cause danger to anyone in it.
The offences were committed last November and December, in Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe.
Magistrates adjourned proceedings for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and said they were steering towards a community penalty.
The court also heard that Knighton owes £628.34 in fines, costs and compensation orders for offences including theft and driving without due care and attention.
He will appear at Newton Aycliffe again on Friday, April 23.
