Saltburn in Bloom organisers are gearing up for another success, despite last year's attempts to sabotage the town's chances in Britain in Bloom.
Residents of the town were devastated when a mystery saboteur slipped chemicals into a bowser used to water hanging baskets and tubs.
Hundreds of people came out in force to replace the plants and flowers in time for the Britain in Bloom judges' visit in the summer. Their efforts paid off when Saltburn received a bronze award in the small coastal town category at finals in London.
Now Saltburn in Bloom organisers are asking residents to help out again.
They are looking for volunteers for litter picking in preparation for a visit by judges from Northumbria in Bloom on Thursday, April 15.
Rubbish bags and gloves, for children, will be distributed tomorrow and on Saturday, April 10, between 10am and 12.30pm outside Somerfield supermarket in preparation for the town's final litter pick and tidy on the evenings of Tuesday, April 13, and Wednesday, April 14.
Judges will visit the town again in July.
