Crook travelled to Cumbria on Sunday and came back with an important three points after an 8-4 win.
Kicking against the wind Carlisle opened the scoring inside a minute but Crook replied immediately with Kelly Rushworth netting after some great passing between her, Nicky Duckling and Sarah Carter.
It took a while for the game to settle from a furious start but Crook proved to be the better side as Nicky Duckling got number two on 30 minutes after she took the ball through several defenders leaving them standing. Ten minutes later Nicky got number three after she picked up a great though ball from Amanda Dodds. Kelly Rushworth got number four just as the half time whistle went when she took a through ball well from a great pass from Fay Burn. Kirsty Finlayson had a great game playing sweeper stopping a few attempts on goal.
Carlisle got their second goal similar to their opening goal on 46 minutes. A ball from Fiona B went through to a striker who hit it with extreme force, no one could stop it.
On 50 minutes captain Amanda Dodds took a penalty after Nicky had been brought down in the area, Amanda converted giving Crook a 5-2 lead.
Carlisle got through Crooks defence to score number three as everyone at Crook thought an offside should have been given. Goalkeeper Katie Outhwaite made some spectacular saves, one even with her head as Carlisle went all out to try to salvage the game. But nothing could put off a fired-up Crook and when Kelly Rushworth made it number six with a helping hand form Sarah Carter then number seven when Gemma Gibson lobbed the defence for her then number eight as Jenni Duffy and Nicky Duckling worked endlessly to get the ball to her.
Lizzie Ward and Liza Ward had quite exceptional games working very hard in midfield and wing.
Crook play Chester-le-Street on Sunday at Millfield Ground, kick-off is 3pm.
Crook won away to Blyth Spartans midweek. The score was 2-1, scorers were Nicky Duckling and Kirsty Finlayson.
