It was quality rather than quantity over on Partridge Lake's peg ten for Castleford's Chris Cooper who finished second with 52.7.0.
Also relying on the groundbait feeder, Chris hair rigged pellets to pull out commons to 8.0.0.
Come Saturday headline grabber at the prolific complex proved a massive common carp of 22 13.0 landed by Pontefract's Kevin Hughes.
Kevin on peg 22 worked the pole and corn at 11 metres to subdue the priceless specimen, the biggest to date from Kestrel Lake.
He then proceeded to add more comfortable sized carp to 4.0.0 for an overall net of 56.14.0.
Venue regular John Chapman was relegated to runner up spot just 2ozs adrift. Sat on form Lake Partridge, John on peg nine opted for waggler and pellet in flat calm conditions and connected with some better quality carp averaging 8.0.0

At the Oaks Sessay another big turnout on Cedar Match Pool saw small carp feeding all day to make up an impressive score sheet.
First off Map Elton's Gordon Poole put 54.7.0 onto the scales to beat the 79 rods during Sunday's slot.
Gordon on peg 62 went across on the pole extended to 13 metres and collected fish up to 2.0.0 all responding to the pellet.
For teammate Dave Pimlott on corner peg 56 the pellet also delivered the goods catching down the side into the corner and over to the island on his way to 47.12.0.

The margins were the place to draw during the opening Bob Co Spring Series staged on Cyprio and the Match Pool at Moor Monkton's Carpvale fishery.
Bob Co angler Graham Broadley on Cyprio peg eight literally caught under his feet. Switching between the corn and pellet on the pole resulted in four carp that registered 19.12.0 at the scales.
It was more of the same off Cyprio 16 as fellow Bob Co rod Dave Armitage put together another margin caught quartet for 18.10.0.
Roach were the mainstay during the Hartlepool AC Cameron Shield fished on Hurworth Burn Reservoir and Mark Arrowsmith of the Anglers Services had the most a super net of 23.5.0.
Mark on the East Bank punched the groundbait feeder 45 yards out into the wind off peg 8 and 30 minutes later bites came steadily. Maggots on the hook and now and again casters accounted for 47 roach and a pound perch.
Next best Michael Holden of Hartlepool put together 10.15.0 from peg four.
