Newfit Services Willington: Byers Green Royal Oak won a tough match at Willington Burn to move 13 points clear at the top of the table with one match remaining.
However they are not certain champions as second placed Willington Cottles have a match in hand. This means that to be certain of landing the championship in their first season, the Royal oak need to win their final match by ten points. Cottles are six points ahead of Willington Lion and Unicorn, who also have two matches to play.
Willington Burn took three points from the visiting Byers Green Royal Oak with singles wins from Lyndon Taylor and Malcolm Campbell with the same two combining to take a doubles point. The Oak had singles wins from Ray Scott, John Allinson, Tommy Bell and Trevor Kerr with Alan Sheldon with Malcolm Hughes and Mark Kidman with Ray Scott adding doubles points and then completing the victory by winning the team game.

Crook Golden Fleece emphasised their top place after they only dropped one point to the visiting Byers Green Club and moved twenty-five points clear. Crook Royal Sun, who struggled to beat the visiting bottom team, Crook Surtees, are in second place five points ahead of Crook Olde Horse Shoe.

The Dominoes team knockout was played at Billy Row Green and sponsored by mine hosts Ian and Michelle Bell. Mill House reached the final after beating Golden Fleece 3-1, The Green 3-1 and White Swan 3-0. The other finalists were Surtees B who deafeated Australian 3-1, Travellers Rest 3-2 and RAFA 3-2.
In the final Mill House beat Surtees B 4-1.
