THE work of an artist who has followed in her father's footsteps has opened at an East Durham Gallery.

Rose Grundy, of Easington, is displaying oil paintings, including landscapes, in the Discovery Centre at Seaton Holme, Hall Walks, Easington.

She is continuing her family's artistic tradition as both her father and mother painted.

The Hartlepool Art Club member has held several successful exhibitions. She has tried working with other media but prefers oils.

Exhibition organiser Irene Haddick said: "Rose has been painting for 20 years and now she is retired she has time to indulge in her passion.''

The exhibition runs until Wednesday, April 28. The paintings on display are for sale.

Admission is free. Seaton Holme is open to the public between 9am and 4pm on weekdays and from 11am to 4pm at weekends.
