Middlesbrough striker Michael Ricketts was counting his blessings today after a miraculous escape from a motorway smash.
The 25-year-old's Ferrari aqua-planed on the M62 in Lancashire during heavy rain yesterday and was damaged beyond repair in the resulting collision.
But Ricketts emerged from the wreckage unscathed and was back in training this morning.
''We're grateful Michael emerged from a nasty accident unscathed apart from a few minor bumps and bruises,'' said a club spokesman. ''He trained as normal today.''
