A RUSSIAN adventure play is to be staged at Darlington's Arts Centre next week.
The Firebird is a folk tale about a battle to save the world. It involves a dying kingdom populated by strange creatures, including talking ravens and wolves, an evil wizard and the Firebird.
All the characters are portrayed by two actors, who transform everyday objects into creatures.
They also use live music and song to accompany the adventure.
The Firebird, which is part of Darlington's programme for children during the Easter school holidays, is being staged in two performances at Darlington Arts Centre on Wednesday, April 14, at 11am and 2.30pm.
For tickets or information, call the box office on (01325) 486555.
