FOUR students from a school in the region are to travel to London in the summer to take part in a national mathematics competition.
The students from Teesdale Comprehensive School, in Barnard Castle, County Durham, won the regional final of the UK Mathematics Trust Team Challenge, at Durham University last week.
William Metcalf, Bethany Day Preston, Josh Crawley, and Claire Wilkinson beat 23 teams from across the northern region from North Yorkshire to Northumberland to qualify for the final.
The competition involved participating in four team-based mathematical challenges as well as head-to-head competitions with students from other schools.
The team will now travel to the Guildhall in London in July to compete against teams from 33 other regions in the UK in the national final.
