A SCOUT group for children with special needs is about to celebrate its first birthday.
Friarage Scoutlink, based in Northallerton, is holding a party on Saturday for all its members and people who have helped out over the past year.
The group aims to enable children who may not adapt into a regular scout group to enjoy what Scouting has to offer and its monthly meetings usually attract 18 young people aged between 6 and 12.
Scout group leader Steven Brown thanks all the people who have given of time or money towards establshing the group.
He said: "The people from North Yorkshire have been so generous, not only have we received kind gifts of money but we have received actual donations of equipment from Scout groups through out the area."
The birthday party takes place at Hambleton Leisure Centre, Northallerton, on Saturday from 3pm until 5pm.
