A WOMAN appeared before magistrates yesterday after attempting to punch a police officer while she was drunk.
Sharon Redfern, 40, of Walker Drive, Bishop Auckland, lashed out at a police inspector who attended the home after reports of a disturbance, magistrates in Newton Aycliffe were told.
Jacqueline Gibson, prosecuting, said Redfern used abusive language before attempting to strike the police officer in the face.
Alan Green, in mitigation, said Redfern thought it was her partner she was lashing out at.
Redfern admitted breach of the peace and was bound over in the sum of £50 for six months.
