MEDIA group News Corporation is to "significantly expand" its shareholder base by switching its main listing from Australia to New York, it emerged yesterday. The group, which publishes The Times and Sun newspapers, said the proposal would stimulate demand for its shares and provide easier access to funds. The Murdoch-controlled company stressed that it would retain a listing on the Australian Stock Exchange and that it expected no change to operations Down Under.
