A mother accused of kidnapping her two young children on Teesside has been remanded in custody until June 4.
Shanaz Hafeez, 30, of Egerton Road, appeared at Teesside Crown Court yesterday charged with the kidnap of daughters, Salina, aged five and three-year-old Sarah, and is set to return for a plea and directions hearing in six weeks.
And her two alleged accomplices, Shafqat Rafi, 29 of Woodlands Road, and father-of-six Arif Hussain, 34, of Haddon Street, both Middlesbrough, were released on conditional bail until the same date.
As part of their bail conditions, the pair must remain at their current addresses, report to Middlesbrough police station between 2pm and 4pm daily, must not interfere with prosecution witnesses or enter Cornfield Road, Middlesbrough.
The sisters were found unharmed by police in a house in Acton Street, Middlesbrough, on Friday after a 33-hour nationwide search. The children were allegedly snatched as they walked along a street with their foster mother last Wednesday.
