A retirement home opened in Seaham this week.
Harbour Lodge, in Flamborough Walk, is the fourth of six Extra Care projects being developed by Hanover Housing Association, Durham County Council and builder MJ Gleeson.
It is aimed at older people, who need care and support but value their independence.
The first resident to move in this week was 95-year-old Elizabeth Hudson, who was presented with a bouquet of flowers to mark the occasion by estate manager Nancy Hunter and operations supervisor for County Durham Care Sharleen Charlton.
