Margrove Heritage Centre reopened yesterday with an exhibition on the life of the Vikings.
Redcar re-enactment group Anmod Dracan loaned its costumes and artefacts, including a Viking tent and a large loom at the museum at Margrove, near Guisborough, the ancient capital of Cleveland.
Families also took part in a learning activity to make a chickadee card with a pop-up chick at the museum.
The centre's Easter programme features a decorated egg competition, with two drop-in sessions today, from 10am to noon and 1pm to 4pm.
The judging and prize presentation is on Sunday, April 18, at 2pm, with last entries accepted at midday.
Children can take along decorated hard-boiled eggs at any time up to judging day.
On Easter Sunday, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm there are races up the Beck Trail to find an Easter chick. For more details, or to book a session, call Margrove on (01287) 610368.
