A MOTHER made an emotional appeal yesterday to help catch the killer of her son.
Scott Pritchard, 19, was bludgeoned in an attack yards from his home.
Images taken from security footage show he had a foot in a plaster cast and was on crutches, so he would have been unable to defend himself.
He was found unconscious at the rear gate of his home in Lyndsay Close, Hendon, Sunderland, on January 7, and died from head injuries, which police believe were caused by a blunt instrument.
Yesterday, his mother made an appeal for information about the attack.
She said: "There seems to be no reason why they have done this.
"We miss him so much and I keep expecting him to walk through the door at home and talk to me. Please come forward if you can help. This could have been your son."
