A FOOTBALL shirt signed by the England football squad has been donated to St Teresa's Hospice, in Darlington.
The shirt was originally given to the Redworth Hall Hotel, near Darlington, when the team stayed there during the Euro 2004 qualifier against Slovakia in Middlesbrough, last June.
Diane Tallentire, the hotel's human resources manager, said: "The team left a number of gifts to share among the staff.
"It would have been difficult to single out one member of the Redworth team to give the shirt to, so we donated it to St Teresa's Hospice."
Hospice director Jane Bradshaw said: "We are really grateful to Redworth Hall for thinking of us. We haven't yet decided when we will auction the shirt, but when we do I am sure that there will be some very interested bidders and it will give a real boost to hospice funds."
