TWO children were taken to hospital after separate road accidents.
An eight-year-old boy suffered multiple injuries after running from behind a parked caravan into the path of a Vauxhall Omega in Montaque Street, The Headland, Hartlepool.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool, and detained. Anyone with any information about the incident, at 7pm on Tuesday, is asked to contact PC Ian Robson on (01642) 326326.
Police are also appealing for witnesses after a five-year-old boy was injured in Westerdale Road, Berwick Hills, Middlesbrough, in an accident involving a Renault Clio at about 3pm on Tuesday. He has a broken leg and was detained in the James Cook University Hospital. Anyone with any information is asked to contact (01642) 301552.
In another accident, also on Tuesday, a 37-year-old woman passenger in a BMW suffered a serious arm injury after a collision with a Ford Transit van. She was detained in the University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton.
It happened at 10.45am at the junction of George Street and New Street, Thornaby.
The driver of the BMW and two other passengers were released after treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact (01642) 301554.
