NATURE EVENTS: The Durham Wildlife Trust has organised Easter events at the Low Barns Nature Reserve, Witton-le-Wear. Next Wednesday children can learn about deer, and the following Friday there will be an afternoon of tadpoling. For details and to book call 0191-584 3112.
STORY WALK: A family walk with access for pushchairs will be held next Wednesday, starting at Crook Library, at 9.45am. Eileen Glenton will tell stories en-route. The library is also holding a children's Easter egg competition. The closing date is next Thursday.
FAMILY DISCO: Crook Cricket Club is holding a family disco tomorrow, with a dyed egg and Easter bonnet competition. On Friday, April 16, the club is holding a race night with a pie and peas supper, at 8pm.
FAREWELL TOUR: Irish country singer Ann Breen is taking an indefinite break from touring and as part of her farewell tour will be appearing at The Kensington Hall Hotel, Willington, on Thursday, May 27, at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on (01388) 762634. Proceeds will go to Stanhope and Weardale branch of the MS Society.
