A FUNDRAISING pensioner brought his colourful charity stand back to a shopping centre this week.
Ray Mankin, of Blackhall Mill, near Gateshead, is exhibiting a collection of hand-made, miniature fairgrounds and trams at the Gateshead MetroCentre until tomorrow.
All the fun of the fair is replicated in detail, from carousels and swings, to a waltzer - and all donations he collects will go to Cancer Care and the British Heart Foundation.
This is the fourteenth year the 76-year-old has brought his work to the centre, and so far he has raised more than £45,000.
MetroCentre marketing manager Karen Carr said: "Shoppers never cease to be amazed by the workmanship that has gone into the operation of the model fairground."
