FAMILIES have been invited to make faces at a new exhibition.
Workshops being held at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland have been inspired by a William Morris exhibition.
Artist Helen Law will demonstrate how to make masks from plaster, willow branches, safety pins, spoons or curtain hooks.
Visitors can even have their faces cast using plaster bandages, then molten glass will be poured into the impression left in the bandages to produce a mirror image.
Ms Law said: "Morris uses a lot of primitive forms in his work and has created striking masks.
"Using these as our inspiration, we will use ethnic and contemporary materials to produce our own individual pieces."
The first workshop was held this week, with further events planned on Saturday, April 17, Saturday, May 1, and Tuesday June 1. All the workshops run from 10.30am to 3pm and places do not have to be booked.
