A LEADING watercolour and miniatures painter is staging a one-woman exhibition over the next four weeks.
Gina Morton, who was born in Darlington, won her first painting competition when she was 12.
Ms Morton worked as a bank official but maintained her interest in art through correspondence courses and painting holidays. Since 1977, she has also been honorary secretary of Darlington Society of Arts.
Her work was selected for display in London at the Galleon Holidays' exhibition, by the Society of Women Artists and the Royal Miniature Society.
She has also held exhibitions in Darlington, Richmond, North Yorkshire, and Barnard Castle and exhibited with the International Guild of Artists at Ilkley.
She was elected an associate of the British Watercolour Society and a member of the British Society of Miniaturists in 1998.
Her latest exhibition, at the Discovery Centre, at Seaton Holme, in Easington Village, County Durham, opened this week and runs until May 10.
