CoXhoe Athletic hammered Simonside SC 5-0, a result that keeps them in top spot and in pole position to win the league. Man of the match Lee Atkinson hit the first of his four goals with a solo effort rounding the keeper to slot home. He beat the offside trap before rounding the keeper again for No 2. Ian Smithson got the third and Atkinson hit the last two goals against a lethargic and poor Simonside.

Brandon Prince Bishop won their home game 6-1 against Seaham Town. Graham Stobbs hit the first for the Bishops with a quality goal. John Templeton hit the second two minutes later after a nice one-two with Michael Fort. Fort put the third away with a cracking shot from 12 yards out. It was 4-0 to the Bishops straight after the interval when Paul Eiles free kick found the head of Lee Johnson who gave the keeper no chance. The Town managed to pull a goal back from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit. However, the Bishops soon applied more pressure through a nice solo effort from Templeton, who beat three defenders then the keeper to make it 5-1, before Eiles finished the scoring, making it 6-1 from the penalty spot.

Shildon Railway outplayed their hosts Durham University with a 6-0 win. Two goals from Stefan McGowan, two from Neil Robinson and one each from Andrew Singlewood and Dave Hanson were more than enough to win the game.

Ebchester FC went down 4-1 at home to Hartlepool Town. Andrew Carr hit the net

for Ebchester before Keith Brookbank, Dave Eglintine, Dave Birkbeck and Steve Doyle replied.

In the score of the day, rampant Belford House hit Seaham Mallard with a 12-0 win with goals coming from Mark Green (5) , Martin Deakin (3), Michael Conner

(2), David Scott one and the last from Paul Robertson.
