A PILOT project run by a youth offending service has proved a success, with 11 young people achieving NVQ qualifications.
The youngsters, all aged between 16 and 18 and on the project run by Stockton Borough Council's youth offending service, have achieved NVQ1 City and Guilds in cleaning and support services.
The group completed written assignments and demonstrated an ability to work safely.
Their final assessed observations included clearing up a two-mile section of the Castle Eden Walkway, near Stockton.
Another 21 people took part in the scheme to experience work placements, improve job-seeking skills and get help and support in finding and keeping jobs.
