BUSINESSES are being given the chance to showcase what they can offer, from circus training skills to cost accounting.
The Redcar and Cleveland Skills Village event, to be held at Redcar Bowl and Leisure Centre on September 24 and 25, is providing free exhibition space for local employers, education and training-providers.
The event will provide a forum for people to discuss education opportunities with experienced career guidance consultants and to talk to employers about careers and training.
Skills Village has been developed by Routes to Employment, a Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council initiative, in association with the Redcar and Cleveland Partnership.
The event aims to build on the success of the first Skills Village, held last year at Redcar and Cleveland College.
This year, it is joining forces with the Connexions' Choices Event and the Jobcentre Plus Christmas Jobsfair.
More than 100 exhibitors will take part, and visitors will find information on education, jobs and training.
Councillor Vera Moody, of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, said: "This is the only event of its type in the borough and is a major opportunity for businesses and organisations to get access to people."
