John Reynolds took over the lead in the THINK! British Superbike Championship with a victory and third place in round two at Brands Hatch.

However, it was Sean Emmett who took the plaudits when he battled through the pain barrier to win the second race.

The MonsterMob Ducati had slammed down heavily on the second lap of the opening race in a tangle with Glen Richards.

However, he hit the front early on in race two, and held off the challenge of Michael Rutter by a split second, with Reynolds finishing third.

''I got a bit of slide, my feet were off the pegs and I was out of the seat. I thought I had corrected it, but then Glen cannoned into me,'' reflected Emmett on his first-race crash. He had grabbed the lead on the second lap of race two.

Earlier, Reynolds, riding faultlessly on the Rizla Suzuki, had taken a comfortable victory ahead of the HM Plant Honda Fireblade of Rutter, with Yukio Kagayama in third place.
