Members of an out-of-hours club for people with physical and learning disabilities can enjoy cinema nights thanks to the gift of a large television set.
The Options Disability Initiative in the Pioneering Care Centre, Newton Aycliffe, has extended its services to an out-of-hours club called Time Out.
The club has been presented with a television set and £275 towards the cost of a pool table by Newton Aycliffe manufacturing company 3M.
Project worker Karen Cole, who runs the club for adults aged 18 to 55, said she was grateful for the company's support.
She said: "We run a number of activities at the centre during the day, such as arts and crafts, IT (information technology) and life-skills courses, but the Time Out club is especially for our members to enjoy socialising together in the evening. The large TV donated by 3M will mean we can now have film shows."
Mike Simpson, community relations co-ordinator for 3M, said: "The Options Disability Initiative is a charity that provides a very valuable service to members of our local community and we are delighted to support its success. We hope that the television and the pool table will bring many hours of pleasure to its members."
