A SERIES of displays are being held to highlight safety proposals along the ring road, in Stockton.
Consultants White Young Green have been appointed to draw up the proposals that include a new toucan crossing over the ring road, where there is a pedestrian refuge, opposite the entrance to Newham Grange Park and Commondale Avenue.
There are also plans for alterations at the traffic lights at the junction with Bishopton Road West, including a ban on a right turn for traffic coming along the ring road from the south-west into Bishopton Road. Other road safety changes include a drop in the speed limit to 30mph, changes to road markings and some signs.
There will be public displays at the Safeway store, at Whitehouse Farm, tomorrow, from 6.45pm to 8pm and on Friday, from 3.45pm to 5pm.
Public meetings will also be held at Stockton Sixth Form College on Monday, from 6.15pm to 7.45pm and at the Glebe Community Centre on Tuesday, from 5pm to 6.30pm.
