AN artist from Billingham is to display his work in the town's art gallery.
Laurie Peacock was born in Billingham in 1932 and graduated from West Hartlepool College of Art in 1952, before winning a place to the Royal College of Art, in London.
His paintings and etchings have been exhibited in places including the National Gallery Singapore and the Michigan Museum of Art, US. He has exhibited works in numerous galleries in the UK including the Manhatten Gallery, Nottingham and The Bean Art Gallery, Oxford.
His works have sold to numerous regional, national and international collectors, and individual displays are held as far away as Canada, Australia, the US, Turkey and Croatia.
Mr Peacock's latest works, a reflection of his many field trips at home and abroad, have been assembled for a display at Billingham Art Gallery, in Billingham town centre. It goes on show from Saturday until Saturday, June 5. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and admission is free.
