A DIVER from the North-East was named yesterday as one of two people whose bodies were found in a quarry by search teams over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Janine Davison-Evans, 27, originally from Roseworth, in Stockton, and Hank Austin, 25, of Ascot, Berkshire, were reported missing on Good Friday after failing to return from a dive at the Old Dayhouse Quarry, in Tidenham, Gloucestershire.
Staff at the National Diving Centre raised the alarm after the couple failed to return to their car that evening.
On Monday night, two bodies were found at a depth of about 70 metres. They were removed from the site last night for post-mortem examinations to be carried out.
Yesterday, police released a joint statement from both families saying: "Janine and Hank were truly loved and will be sadly missed by all their family and friends."
Ms Davison-Evans was working as a nanny in Berkshire and Hank was a chef.
