A modern take on German folklore is to be staged by talented youngsters in County Durham.
Rats! is a musical version of The Pied Piper of Hamelin and will be Durham Stage School's first professional performance.
Fifty youngsters, aged between six and 14, have spent six months rehearsing for the show.
They will be performing in front of an audience at the Gala Theatre, in Durham.
"The development of their skills has been amazing and we are thrilled by the way they have come on," said organiser Elisa Hudson.
"It is approaching very quickly and they are really looking forward to it.
"It will be a great experience for them and our philosophy is that if you are learning performing arts then you need to perform."
People can expect to see a rapping rat leader, bright and colourful scenery and costumes, and an all-singing, all-dancing cast.
The show will take place on May 1 and 2, at 2pm and 7.30pm, on both days.
Tickets are £8, £5 concessions.
