Willington League:With only one match remaining for most teams the League Championship looks wide open. Willington Club moved to the top when they only dropped two points at Willington Black Horse Inn, but they have four teams kicking at their heels, ready to take the title.
The Black Horse Inn never managed a singles point but did take both doubles points through Tony Claughan with Chris Crosby and Sammy Jackson with Kathy Hunt. The Club's victory was forged by taking all five singles points. The winners were Bobby Jackson, Alan Walker, Tommy Liddle, Scott Little and Michael Irwin.
This win puts the Club one point clear of Willington Lion and Unicorn, who have a match in hand, two points clear of Byers Green Royal Oak, four clear of Hunwick Joiners Arms and six clear of Willington Brewer's Droop, who also have a match in hand.

The Mill House took singles points at Crook Travellers Rest A through Norman Slack and Peter Clement and then added the doubles when the same players combined. The home side had singles wins from Derek Wood, Stephen Todd, Anthony Bell and John Carroll.
The Second Division title went to Crook Queen's Head A despite losing to the visiting Crook Jelly's Bar A in the final match. This left the Queen's with a three points advantage over Crook Coach and Horses B, who finished three ahead of Willington Brewer's Droop.
Ina Smailes, Tommy Longstaff and Neil Harker won singles for the Queen's with Keith Dixon, Andrew Hutchinson and Michael Jewitt levelling. In the decider Jelly's went to victory when Michael Jewitt and Andrew Hutchinson beat the father and son team of Doug and Ian Smailes in the deciding doubles.
